Embassy small grants
Our sources follow 4 embassy small-grant schemes for Kenya: Japan Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP); Finland Fund for Local Cooperation (FLC); Netherlands embassy funds (including the Human Rights Fund); Swiss embassy Small Action funds. None has a call open at the moment. Amounts and dates below come from the calls we have recorded; the embassy's own page always has the current rules.
Japanese embassies fund grassroots projects by non-profit organisations and local bodies under GGP (Kusanone). Each embassy publishes its own guidelines and application period.
Finnish embassies support local civil society through the Fund for Local Cooperation and publish calls for proposals on finlandabroad.fi.
Dutch embassies publish calls for proposals on netherlandsandyou.nl, most often under the Human Rights Fund (Mensenrechtenfonds) and sometimes for other local programmes.
Some Swiss embassies run small funds for local initiatives and announce the calls on their own pages of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs site.
